The Graduate Theological Union
is the largest and most diverse partnership of seminaries and graduate schools in the United States, pursuing interreligious collaboration in teaching, research, ministry, and service. We offer a Center for Jewish Studies, a Center for Islamic Studies, and three programs — the Asia Project, Black Church/Africana Religious Studies, and Women’s Studies in Religion. Students can pursue the Ph.D., Th.D., and M.A., plus two joint Ph.D. programs with the University of California, Berkeley.
We are the place where religion meets the world. Watch our video.

Truth Commission on Conscience in War
to Honor and Protect Freedom of Conscience for Our Nation's Service Members

A diverse coalition of forty religious, academic, advocacy and veterans groups today has organized the first Truth Commission on Conscience in War. The conference will take place at The Riverside Church in New York City, the same location The Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. delivered his historic “Beyond Vietnam” speech. At the March 21 event, commissioners will receive testimony from recent veterans, religious leaders and legal experts about issues of conscience facing service members serving in war.

Will New Tax Laws Affect My Estate Plan?
It's an extraordinarily uncertain time—tax wise, that is. This is the first year in decades that American tax law repealed the federal estate tax. As of Jan. 1, 2010, federal estate taxes are repealed for any deaths that occur during this calendar year, regardless of the size of that person's estate. That sounds like a good thing for everyone, doesn't it? Actually, it could be a double-edged sword. Read on to find out why.Responding to the Disaster in Haiti

“And no one pours new wine into old wineskins. If he does, the new wine will burst the skins, the wine will run out and the wineskins will be ruined. No, new wine must be poured into new wineskins.” — Luke 5:37-38, New International Version of the Bible
